New Real Estate Search Engine - Add Your Site Free

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Buzz Marketing Pros

dothomes.com real estate search engineThis is a nicely done free real estate search engine that you may want to submit your site to. I couldn't figure out how to do so, however, so I emailed them, and this was the response:

Thanks for getting in touch.

If you have a feed in XML format (like Google Base or Trulia format) then simply make it available for us to download at some URL.  This is the fastest way to go live.

Alternatively, we'll crawl your site as soon as we can.  However, given the overwhelming response we've had already, we're forced to crawl agents & brokers in order of the number of listings they have, so it may take quite a while.

Please note that we only accept listings for which you are the listing agent or broker.  Listing with us is free, and advertising to the right of search results costs $95 USD per month per state.

Let me know if you need more information.

Kind Regards,

Apparently you must email Artemi with the URL or feed of your site. Even it it takes a long time, it would be worth it to get your site in the works, and of course if you already have an RSS feed you'll get included that much sooner.

Johnny - let me know what happens.

Bill - it is totally vague, that's why I emailed him.

Ken - I don't understand why you're ranting. 1. I'm advising the free listing. 2. So what if it takes awhile? Eventually you'll have your site on one more relevant place. 3. It wasn't worthless for me - I input Chandler AZ and came up with a bunch of listings.  4. It's a new site...but I'm impressed with it, and they are advertising throughout the web. I think given time it will have some good juice going for it. 5. Considering it would take at the most 5 minutes to add your site for free via a quick email, I don't see the downside. 6. Rants are okay, it gives me a chance to clarify my point.

Dude - chill out!

Ryan - for general info, I agree, but when I was looking for a house I was looking at places like this. I like the interface, and found myself perusing homes in the area. At any rate, no reason not to add your web site to it.

Ken - the point is, a visitor to the dothomes.com site probably didn't know or go directly to the realtor's site. I am at a loss as to why there's any resistance to adding one's web site to this search engine! It's free. It takes a minute to send an email to request an add. It's real estate specific. You may actually get a client. What's to lose?

Kay,

Sure.  One more place to expose your listings.  Great. Free. Double Great.  Except that I already expose them on so many "real estate specific" websites now I need a VA to do it for me.  When I get the stats back I get 3 visitors, 5 visitors, 1 visitor. Of course, when I get stats back from Realtor.com they go through the roof but the listing still won't sell    :-(    and, yes, it's priced low to the market.

I think the tagline for BytePlay (evidently the parent site for dotHomes) says it all -- "because the world needs another blog".

It's like the never ending expansion of the Universe.

dotHomes is a nice URL. One day it may be the place to go and since they're tied in to the UK and South Africa we could have a little international thing going.

OK. Here's my point. You could put up a free website.  I could put up a free website.  Anyone reading this could put up a free website.  After all, affiliate marketers do it all the time. But is it effective. Just because it's free doesn't mean we should pile on. And just because I might stumble across a free website doesn't mean I would advertise it to a potential audience of 74,000+

Thank you for allowing me to present an opposing view.

Ken - You never know when one of those 3 or 5 visitors may end up buying a home from you.

Here's my point: the site, which is fairly new, is well done, is advertising on the web, has a lot of potential, had 6,400 visitors last month, the Alexa rank is shooting up, and it's a PR4. Google likes it. We are now in a global economy, I have contacts all over the world, and the "ties" to the UK and South Africa(?) have nothing to do with anything.

Also, I don't advertise any old site I "stumble across" to the 74,000 member audience of AR. I'm an SEO specialist, with enough SEO successes (from very small to multi-million dollar companies) under my belt to be very confident, and when I bring a site to the attention of Active Rain members, it's because I think it's a valuable site for them to consider. Down the road, those who took the two minutes to add their site may end up with a valuable backlink, targeted traffic, and sales.

I'm going to my room now to pout.

BTW, it wasn't that intuitive to me as to a) how to add a listing or b) how to send them an e-mail

Hi Kay, I just heard of them a few days ago on my vflyer site. It says there that if you publish a vflyer they will automatically post the vflyer of your listing on this site.

@George - nope, you're not blind. I couldn't find anything either. I emailed Artemi way back in February about the difficulty in submitting a site; apparently he's only looking for advertisers at this time. It's too bad - I thought it would become a great resource.
