How did I get to this point?

By
Real Estate Agent with Alliance Real Estate

How did I get to this point in my life? Let me tell you. I am an Omaha native. I grew up here and came back here. Most transplants say why and I say why not? Omaha is my home.

I attended the University of Nebraska - Lincoln where I got my Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication. After college, I found myself loving the Human Resources field. Starting at the ground level, I worked very hard to understand and learn all I could about Human Resources, a large study of people. I loved every job I have had and every job has lead me to meeting and knowing a wide range of people.

My last Human Resource position was a Corporate Human Resources Manager at Millard Refrigerated Services, third largest cold storage distribution company in the United States. I handled many aspects of Human Resources; recruiting, interviewing and employee selection, benefits, discipline, training, employee development, investigations, just to name a few. I really loved my job and the people I worked with. Our company grew and so did the demands of my job. I became a road warrior. I came home on Friday, spent the weekend with my husband, then left again. I did it for a number of years.

As a married woman, there came a time to have children. I knew I wanted to spend a lot time with my children. And the job I had, would never have worked for a mom. So I quite, one of the hardest things I have ever done. I have no regrets. I have 2 great kids and am happy of the discussions we have made to make our family a family.

My children got older and I began searching for an opportunity. I really knew Real Estate was the answer. I have been around Real Estate all my life. Both my parents held licenses and my grandfather, B.H. Buras was very active in the Omaha/Council Bluffs real estate community. I knew I could meet the gamut of personalities that I had so come accustomed to meeting and working with. I love different and variety, they present new opportunities and challenges. I like that.

So to this point in my life... I am a Realtor at Alliance Real Estate. I am proud to be with such a fantastic and supportive group of professionals. I know I have made the best choices in my life and this opportunity is just what I was searching for.

The roads we travel in life we never know how or where it all leads. I would never have thought I would end up as a Broker / Owner but when I look back I see how all the things and places I have been have add value to me as a man and make me a great REALTOR today. I love what I do I love the hard work that it takes to be the best I love that each day I start from zero and at the end to the day I can clearly see how far I have come.

We are a blessed bunch
