Harvard's Joint Center for Housing Studies
annual State of the Nation report says that
despite climbing interest rates and rising
inflation, it's unlikely that the Real Estate
market will see a sharp decline.

Price appreciation will continue to bring
buyers to the market.  Home prices are
expected to continue rising, as long as the
economy creates jobs and homebuilders
cut back assembly to account for the
slow in demand.

Although consumers are allotting more of their
budgets to housing expenses and building
more home equity, earnings are not keeping
up with the rising home costs.  Over the
past few years, consumers have found
their savings growing in a home much
faster than in a CD or savings account.
