Harvard's Joint Center for Housing Studies |
annual State of the Nation report says that |
despite climbing interest rates and rising |
inflation, it's unlikely that the Real Estate |
market will see a sharp decline. |
Price appreciation will continue to bring |
buyers to the market. Home prices are |
expected to continue rising, as long as the |
economy creates jobs and homebuilders |
cut back assembly to account for the |
slow in demand. |
Although consumers are allotting more of their |
budgets to housing expenses and building |
more home equity, earnings are not keeping |
up with the rising home costs. Over the |
past few years, consumers have found |
their savings growing in a home much |
faster than in a CD or savings account. |
