Omaha Loses Another Fine Realtor

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Greater Omaha 20041001

The other day I heard that Jody Schott of CBSHome Real Estate died. Jody had been in the business a long time and was one of Omaha's top agents.  She was always friendly to work with and very professional. From what I heard she died of a brain embolism. She was just 41 years old. This is the second Realtor in Omaha to go before her time in the last few months (Tragic Shooting in Omaha takes Nine Lives including one Realtor).

"This is the second REALTOR in Omaha to go before her time"?  There have been many more than than these two tragic deaths.  Shame on your poor choice of words.

Thank you for your words.  My mother was an excellent buisness woman who truly prided herself in her work.  Her main reason for her sucess was her honesty and her ability to address every type of personality when selling a home.  My three sisters, and myself will always hold her close to our heart as a mother who devoted her time to us.  She was able to connect with each of us in our own way based on our personalities and interests.  I can only hope that the memory remains instilled in all of us, especially my four year old sister, with whom now has to fight todays challenges without a mother by her side.

Thank you,

Nate Schott

Dear Trumm Team,

Thank you for putting together a little blurb about what happened to Jody. I am deeply saddened after finding out that she is no longer with us and was anxious to know why.

I only knew Jody for a short time but in that time I felt like I had known her for years. It was always apparent how much she loved her family and respected her profession.

I will not do her justice trying to describe her so let me just say that she was an Awesome human being and I feel lucky to have been able to know her.

Hi Nate: I just wondered if you could tell us how you are doing now, especially your little sister? I remember I met your mom at an open house one year. We were both pregnant at the time and both had much older kids as well (my older daughter is now 20), jody and I were both the same age. Your younger sister also went to daycare with my young daughter in Hillsborough. My daughter is now 7 and every time I think of Jody and her  daughter and other kids, it is so saddening. Just wondered how things are going now? Dana

Dana,

I happened to be googling and ran across this and saw no one ever responded to your post last year.  Cassidy is doing great.  She is in soccer and will be starting the 3rd grade.  She talks about mom often, some things she remembers, and other times it is all thanks to her dad, and other family members, keeping that memory alive for her.  I was at their house the other day and they had several pictures out in the living room of mom (I think they get changed out regularly as Cassidy loves to reorganize the scrap books and take pictures out of them and put them out for everyone to see J) .  She is growing up to be such a wonderful young lady, and I cannot even begin to express what a wonderful job her dad is doing.  Mom now has 3 more grandchildren since her passing.  My daughter was born on the one year anniversary of her burial (it is nice to have a reason to celebrate every year at that time) and is a carbon copy of Cassidy.  She also has a grandson turning 3 today and her other daughter’s son will turn 2 next month.

It is great to see that she has not been forgotten by others either.

Destiny
