We are never too old

Real Estate Sales Representative with Edina Realty

I've asked by 20 year old daughter to help me create a profile of myself on Facebook.  Her reaction was mom your too old, thats for college kids (I will be 40 in April) so when I got my newest Realtor magazine I was shocked to read about the Welcome to Real Estate 2.0 it was all about realtor technology.  Well I've not only set up my Facebook profile but also Active Rain profile and now look I'm blogging.  Don't Ever let your kids tell you your too old.

Never to old..... I'll be 50 in May and just discovered blogging last year at this time.  Now I'm on Facebook, uploaded a youtube show and will be running my first marathon in June....   Life begins at 40 when the kids can stand on there own and we can enjoy the wisdom of our years!

I can understand. I signed up on Facebook and just got an email that someone has posted something on my wall. Now I have to figure out what that is!

Melinda, that is so funny.  I don't have kids to remind me of such things, but I have to laugh because I thought all of that "stuff" was for kids/young adults.  But here I am on Facebook and Linkedin and some I have no idea about?  I am just "rolling with it"

So that must have been your daughter that called me Sir the other day!

A Sir? When did that happen?

Made in 1968, feeling  like a 1985!

Too Old! They think we are too old, I think they got robbed because they don't who Run DMC is! We're still cool.

I've been contemplating face book and my space too. Didn't want to attract a teen crowd, but I guess it is much different than that if you approach it in a professional way. I think we have to stay as current as possible with technology, especially Internet socializing.

Welcome to ActiveRain, Melinda! I'm slightly older than you, and think that Facebook will be a great way to connect with Generation Y buyers. They'll be making a lot of purchases over the next 7-10 years, and being on Facebook makes it a lot easier for them to find us.

Hi Melinda, and welcome to AR!  My daughters think I am too old for Facebook, too.  They don't know that I blog, yet, they probably think I'm too old for that, too.

Good subject, you should join the Facebook Group here in AR and post this blog there!
