As many of us North & Central Florida know, this weekend is the beginning of the annual Bike Week festivities in Daytona Beach.
My guy & I rode down yesterday to spend some time checking out all the cool bikes and funky people at Destination Daytona, which is Bruce Rossmeyer's new mega-dealership in Ormond Beach.
Since we rode from Jacksonville, I had a good hour each way with my thoughts (aside from waving to others on I-95 on their way to Daytona Beach). And, it occurred to me there are many good lessons to be applied to our real estate business we can learn from bikers.
Here they are for your Sunday reading pleasure:
- Share the road. You are not the only one on the highway. If, for example, you are THE Realtor who handles short sales in your office, you could choose to share some of your pointers with those who have expressed an interest in learning from you. Share and spread the wealth.
- Keep an eye on the traffic ahead of you, to either side of you and behind you. You never know what someone else is going to do, and you may be able to learn from it and use it to further your career or business, or, simply to avoid some rough road ahead.
- Don't be judgemental of others. Just because someone trailered their bike down from Illinois does not make them less of a "true" biker than you. Do not judge others you meet solely on first impressions.
- Have fun. Life is a journey and the experiences we have along the way can help us grow, learn and define us.
Have a safe Bike Week!
