It seems that before Ed and Johnny did THE TONIGHT SHOW, they joined up together to do a show called "WHO DO YOU TRUST". I guess it ran from 1957 - 1962 and I was wondering if anyone has any information about that show or how to get it on DVD ?
The thing I loved about Johnny and Ed was that Ed always commented or laughed, chuckled said "OOHHH..." and become a human puncuation mark for Johnny's monologue and vital to the feel and flow of the show.
When was the last-time a sidekick supported the main act? The Lone Ranger and Tonto, Batman and Robin, Shields and Yarnell, Starsky and Hutch, Tom and Jerry, Fred and Ethel, Lucy and Rickie, Davey and Goliath ???
Now a days people put down eachother on TV. Husbands are made to look like buffoons and many kids run the households. Not so on the Munsters. Herman Munster ran a tight ship and Little Eddy had to own up to his shananigans or go play with Wolfie.
Times have have changed, memories that have shaped my day and generation from TV will not be the shape of future generations unless we expose kids of today to good ole Bonanza, 77 Sunset Strip, F-Troop, Hazel, Denis the Menace or even The Courtship of Eddie's Father (starring Bill Bixby).
