I finnished my taxes and I am so proud of me....

With great trepidation I started turbotax

turbo tax clip

for home and business.  A lot of me thinks I should hire an accountant because my taxes are getting very complicated.  I have my real estate business, 2 rentals, a flipper, a husband (with a normal salary), a stock  sale, dividends, , 3 kids, two of which are in college.  I wish I hadn't had to sell the stock but I needed the money to buy the flipper.

Juggling the bills me juggling the bills.....

I kept putting it off...  I needed any tax return to pay the mortgage on the flipper in April,  ny Dad needed the rental information.  I wanted to show houses, blog......  ANYTHING BUT TAXES....  at 3 PM I couldn't put it off any longer (I almost had to go to Caldwell to show my listing....  but they didn't like old wonderful historic Victorian homes...  Saturday I delayed by going through my market leader (from homevalues) and catching up on all my activities...

My family gave me a wide berth, they know I am grumpy while doing the taxes.  At 7 PM I resisted my college son's siren call to pizza and made turkey burgers, boxed soup and veggies....  I was feeling broke after taking all the deductions and adding up my business expenses......  I know it takes money to  make money but the numbers were depressing....  At dinner I suggested that someone who is not doing taxes should do the dishes... I thought I would quit by 10:30 but I kept going like a little energizer (or a overweight middle aged real estate agent) until I finished everything but medical deductions (they can only give me more money not less :))  At 12:30 AM I walked upstairs bleary eyed....  I cheerfully announced the results of my work and went to bed....  I stayed awake until 2:30 AM...

pizza

It wasn't that bad I get almost all the money we put in back.....  I love tax deductions.... umm I mean my kids....  I can pay the mortgage in Caldwell through May plus my kids credit card bill....  That is comforting.   I might even sell something.  The market it heating up and I am well positioned to take advantage of it.   I have three listings, all good and very different.

I am so proud of me for finishing the taxes.......

GO YOU, GO YOU!......(a little chant while we do the happy dance...)

Boy, oh boy, can I relate to this! Congratulations are definitely in order. Let's start an AR group dedicated to harassing the politicians to enact a law AGAINST tax returns that are more than one page long.

I'm serious about this.

Congratulations!  I've wanted to give TurboTax a try but I'm scared I might mess something up or not get all the deductions we should.  (I'm also like you - gotta luv those tax deductions... I mean kids!)

Debbie, way to go! It's always a good feeling to the taxes behind you for the year. Do you think you have the time now to do my taxes? Just kidding.

Debbie, Congrats!!!!  I always put it off too.  It was just like doing schoolwork and studying for tests. I could find so many things that would postpone my taxes.  Luckily I have my understanding dad that always helps me out. This last year I started a small business outside of my regular job.  Of course I didn't keep it all organized, expenses, costs, etc, so last Sunday I spent likely 8 hours on the project.  But I was SOOO relieved when I hit that send button.  And this is the biggest return for me yet!!!
