How to market Redesign??

By
Home Stager with Dianne's Dynamic Designs

I have been sending out Brochures about Staging but would like to get the word out about Redesign. It states on the back of my brochure that this is a service that I provide but...

Living in a rural area there is lots of people that are not moving & probably would like to have their home REDESIGNED but don't really know that it is available or even what the word Redesign means.

I am wondering how to market that

Do you have any ideas or experiences that could help?

Hi Dianne,

I plan to market redesigning as part of my business after I get established as a home stager. In my mind, I see it as a separate marketing plan with its own web presence although most of the time I see it packaged together with staging.

I know there are loads of people who provide redesigning services, so I am hopeful you will get plenty of responses to your question.

Hi Dianne,

Redesign services can be marketed as your whole staging package.  Wouldn't it be great to help a family sell their existing home and then be able to help them move into their new home and give it a redesign?  This is an angle I have been working on.

Dianne, actually I do 90% redesign and 10% staging.  My clients will call my number because I have a really cool sign on the back of the SUV,  it has a logo, name of business (RoomByRoomRedesign.com), ph. # and the services offered- Consulting, Staging, Designing, Decorating along with my slogan "Make your home what YOU want not what you have settled for"  .     It is the type of sign that is permanent and professional.   Hope that helps, it was one of the first things I did after starting the business.  I am working on a brochure to take to Realtors when I can catch them in group meetings.

Redesigning follows all the elements of staging with the exception of de-personalizing.  I have actually redesigned client's kitchens, countertop selection, replacing appliances, color consulting, flooring,  cabinets and so on. Redesign work can lead to more options for you and your perspective clients.

Dianne-

I have never advertised my redesign services, even though it is part of my business name.  It has just grown organically out of my staging business. I do a larger number of color consultations than I ever anticipated and most of those are due to Realtor referrals.  They have been pleased with my staging work and color selections for the homes I have staged, so have given out my name to buyers who struggle with personalizing through color.

I feel that staging is the service I need to work on the most, as it is so new in Indiana, and I just do redesign as it comes my way. It really is the gravy of the business...

Take some photos of a untouched home layout.  Tweak it, turn lights on, use wide angle lens and quick video and picture slide show, and the pictures tell the tale...your byline is which home would you buy?  ause one of your stellar works as your next ad campaign with the question "Which home would you buy?"

Dianne - Start forming alliances with lenders, landscapers, painters, and the like.  Those folks, once you've formed solid relationships will refer folks to you and you'll cross refer to them because each of you will want to see the other persons business succeed and grow - it really is the coolest thing to experience.  The way I spend my marketing dollars is very different because of this approach too.

I have an alliance with a lender that is just fabulous - I know he wants to see my business succeed and the same for me with his business.  I'm building an alliance with a general contractor - I'm really excited about this one too - we'll be doing some work together next week and we're looking forward to the long term effects that each of us can bring to the others businesses.   These are examples of alliances I have.

Hope these suggestions help.
