Spring is in the air!

Happy March...

I love March! Its probably my favorite month of the year. I grew up in Haskell (Wanaque), I live in Kinnelon, and my office, Century 21 Crest Real Estate is in Pompton Plains. All are located in North Jersey where we have quite the reputation for cold winter weather.

In my opinion, in this area, we get to experience the most wonderful changes in all of the four seasons. Beautiful white fluffy snow falling while sitting in front of a warm and comforting fireplace in the winter. Endless views of beautiful mountains and lakes and the wonderful aroma of spring. Great everything in the summer! And the most amazing colors of change during the days of autumn.

March to me is like a Wednesday is to those of you who have heard of the term "hump day". On the other side of it (the month or the hump) is an exciting new time of year. I don't necessarily love the really cold days of winter but I totally enjoy a good snow storm now and then. Once March comes along, I can look forward to increasingly warmer temperatures with a good chance of at least one more snow day before or sometimes even after March 20th (or is it the 21st?), the official first day of Spring.

Its the month when our office consistently has the most properties go into contract, the beginning of the proverbial "Spring Season Market" in Real Estate. Of course that is very exciting to a Real Estate lifer such as myself! My listings are beginning to show lots of activity and buyers are getting excited about finding a home! Of course I look forward to this busy season all year so that I may enjoy taking time off in my favorite season, summer!

I also usually try to get away to a warmer climate for at least 5 day stay in March, usually to my sister, Marie's wonderful condo in Hallandale, Florida which is where I am going in just two more days! Its so exciting to know that when I return from my getaway, I will be seeing the beginning signs of spring all around me. The tiny buds on the trees, crocuses and tulips beginning to peek out of the ground and my bird feeders, surrounded by increased feeding activity and more colorful birds.

I live in a beautiful area with plenty of trees, hills, mountains, lakes and so much more natural beauty that I can even begin to name. I also start thinking about what I am going to do in my yard this year. What new gardens will I plant? What new places will I find to hike and explore? One of my goals for this year is to put up and a privacy fence a fountain in the back yard! I can't wait!

I love March"!

Oh, one more thing...did I mention that it is also my birthday month,? Yes, I said "Birthday month". After all, my philosophy is, if I'm going to be yet another whole year older in just one day, I may as well celebrate for a whole month!

I believe March may be my favorite month of the year also.  It brings the hope of warmer days (but not too hot!), and outdoor activities.  It's the time when I can start to ride my horse again.  It's difficult to ride in the freezing cold, not to mention ice and snow.  Yes, I do believe I agree with you!  :)

March is a smile at the end of winter.  You are a smile in every one of my seasons.

Love your sister,

Happy Birthday month! I don't mind March, but like July better here in NJ..the summer, the shore, and my birthday month! By the way, any room in your suitcases for a stowaway? I think I would like March even better in sunny Florida! Enjoy!  Cathy
