Welcome to Ridgewood

Life in The Village of Ridgewood is a rare combination of cosmopolitan living and rich tradition.  One of the larger settlements in the area, with a population of close to 25,000, Ridgewood offers something for everyone.  Tree lined streets, lovely homes, a vibrant community, a quaint downtown area…. to name just a few.

Ridgewood is home to The Valley Hospital, the very heart of the community serving more than 400,000 residents in the surrounding towns.

Summer brings a 4th of July Celebration that starts with a Parade and ends with a spectacular fireworks display, the tradition is over 100 years old and some years there are even skydivers.

The winter is a festive time around town with the Tree Lighting.  The tree is setup near the train station *    and welcomes residents home every evening during the holidays.

Springtime in town is yet another pleasant time, the smell of the trees and flowers can be enjoyed throughout the village but best enjoyed in the downtown area.

Ridgewood’s public school system features 10 schools serving pupils from kindergarten through graduation at Ridgewood High School.  With Penn Station in New York City less than 20 miles away, whether driving in on the accessible highways or taking the NJ Transit train, it’s a perfect place for the commuter to make their new home.

I just checked your profile and see you have been here for a while - so please take what I offer with a grain of salt.

First, it looks to me as if this post is a scanned page from somewhere else - impossible to read, because it is much to small.

Second, depending on the source for the document, it may be copyrighted and might be something you might want to consider re-writing and personalizing..

then again, it may be your original work - I have no idea or way of knowing - it's just my first reaction and I thought I wold share it with you...just in case I'm right.

Either way though, I still can't read it.

Now have a Blessed Day,

John,

I had some difficulty with uploading photos included in the word document that i created on my mac.  For some reason, other photos were showing.  I renamed the files and republished just now.  It is all original material... but I saved the file as a pdf and posted it as a place holder.  Took a break to pickup my husband from the train, had a bite to eat and now I am back!

Thanks for your comments, it means a lot to know that somebody is looking at this stuff!

Hi Jo,

I'm not able to view the photos here on this blog.  Are you still having a problem?

Lisa,
Photos seem to be okay on this machine (MacBook)  but I went onto my PC and find that the only pic that is on any of my blogs is the "Ridgewood First Night" logo?!?  I have been trying real hard not to get my husband involved with my blogging; he's a tech wizard and I really wanted to do this all by myself.  Guess I'd better get some professional advice if I want to make the most of my stuff out here.  thanks for the heads-up
