The agents make the company

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Abacus Properties Inc.

I started my own brokerage, Abacus Properties Inc. 2 years ago. I made the move because I feel strongly that brokers, especially the big boys are taking advantage of real estate agents. Agents are the talents; without good agents, there will be no Prudential, no CB, no Remax.

My business model is simple: Service the experienced agents(there are the bosses!), let them have 100% commission(they earned it) and pay the company a small service fee. Train the new agents so that they can become top producing agents.

I believe Abacus Properties Inc. will be the Brokerage of the future!

Kathy, congratulations on your company opening. With all due respect, I believe the 100% commission concept...w/ a fee to the broker has been around for a while. At least since the 70's when Dave Liniger et al started RE/MAX.

Kathy,

Congrats on your new company.  I, too, started my own company last year.  Best decision I ever made.

Congrats on your new company I'm sure you have a great business plan.  If you can bag a few great agents you could be on your way.

Kathy, sounds like you have a good plan to find your niche in the great city of San Diego.  Sometimes that 72 degrees on most days sounds tempting.
