Requesting inbound links

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Shepherd Group
I am wondering how these inbound links work. I spoke with my website provider and they said that is a good way to get my website brought up in the search engines. Is this true? I was told to search for quality inbound links and I figured this is the best place to start. So anyone who would be willing to share links with me would be great. I created a business partner link page on my website and will add your link with your info and photo if you would like. Any help to move my website up the search engines would be very much appreciated. Thanks Kevin www.williamsonteam.net

Hi Kevin, I think AR will do way more for you than links will,  I am NOT a expert but I would post listings to localism with text in the title like Riverside Ca Homes for sale, I also like backpage.com and Isell.com, craigslist.com  I DO understand that links from places that have nothing to do with real estate will not help and may hurt your results.  Thats my story and im stickin to it!

Have fun,

Larry

In bound links can hurt - if you are doing link exchange (which is what you are effectively asking for) Google may actually penalize you and remove your site from their indexes.

They prefer natural links, meaning that I am linking to an article within your site for the purpose of sending viewers of my site to something of interest within your site. Links directly to the root of the website are seen by Google as less relevant, and if too many of this type exist to your site without a corresponding number of natural links then that is when you can get into trouble and actually end up penalizing yourself.

In general, you are probably better off using a blog to comment about articles on other sites that you find interesting, let the author know that you have written this (often referred to as a Trackback) and they will then often link back to your article - creating a natural link since it is relevant to the readers of the original article. Make sense? If not, let me know and I will try to give it another shot! :)
