Lightening Strikes A Pose

By

So, I've been racking my brain about what to write about for my first blog submission on AR.  It's really been on my mind- especially with Cheryl's weekly assignments and what not.  I've been blogging now for over a year on blogspot (RealEstateForRealLife), but it's not the same- that's a little more personal, sometimes about real estate, sometimes about virtual tours, sometimes just for fun and more than others it's about my kids....  So, what do I write about that will interest other virtual tour providers?  What can I contribute or tell you about that you don't already know?!  While I still try to wrap my brain around that one and try to find something that will do the trick, today, I found something that will at least entertain you a little....

So, I got a call today from a big real estate team in my office that has been thinking about using my services... I say that only because, they've been toying with me for over a week now.  They've been doing their own tours for years now and have even used The Industry's Finest Virtual Tour Company in the past, but have just gotten too busy for even their own photography- that and the fact that the one who took the pictures on this last listing supposedly "couldn't hold a camera straight (ie: level) to save his life" might have helped just a little.  Anyway, I digress....  they called today for me to go and shoot this new listing right away.  I scheduled it with the home owner and met them a few hours later.  Needless to say, I get there and it's just a little more "country" than I expected.  As they literally shooed the rooster and the hen out of the way and kicked the poo off the sidewalk to the front door, we proceeded inside to shoot the interior.  Then I faced the feet and the landmines to get some exterior shots and some scenery to reflect the acreage with the home.  The Realtor suggested that I get some different angles and maybe even a horse in the shot, there were 3.  The homeowner got them all to come over and they even got a little excited.  I didn't notice, heck, I was just trying not to step in anything!  I was walking around trying to find somewhere to get a nice pan of the scenery and get the horses and the outbuilding, not really paying too much attention when the homeowner starts going on and on about "Lightening."  That's the MALE horse!  He apparently was excited and really wanted to strut his stuff!  It was just too funny!  So then the rest of the time I had to try to make sure that the trees were properly positioned to hide certain parts of the horses anatomy so as to keep this tour from being rated!  I've faced lots of different issues and tribulations when doing tours, trying to get the right angles, hiding the dirty dishes in the sink, keeping pets and childeren out of the pictures, but never have I had to try to keep it G rated!  I've even locked myself out a few times- fortunately I've always been able to get back in- but it's just amazing the kinds of things that the photographer sees behind the scenes!  Maybe once it's stitched, complete, uploaded and published I'll share my infamous tour with everyone, till then, I just couldn't resist sharing my story!  I hope it brought a smile to your day!
