Driving home with my convertible top down on a spring day never felt better. I had just opened a huge door and the air rushed in around me. Closing a chapter in my lending career had taught me a lot about myself:
1. I am a sales animal, like a tiger on a hunt. Caging tigers is counter productive.
2. Clients like me and I like them, which breeds ongoing happy relationhships.
3. Employers vary in their appreciation of 1 and 2 in how they impact the organization.
These are things I am constantly re-learning. I also learned I cannot quiet my inner voice or supress my creativity. And most importantly: I cannot make others happy without also honoring my own happiness. A subject worthy of a lifetime of exploration.
This new view is very unknown and exciting...
UPDATE: As of 2016, I am no longer based in the USA. Clients and friends may email me for a local realtor or lending professional referral in the San Juans and Whatcom County.
All my best!
