Short Sales - Can't avoid them any longer...

Real Estate Broker/Owner with Bauer-Reno & Associates Real Estate LLC

In the past I have avoided listings that required a short sale, but now I have made the paradigm shift that if I'm going to do more than just survive this real estate crisis, I had better get on board.

So as a result, I have started doing some research and I need to know where to get the best training/consulting on short sales. I have found several providers but I am looking for some referrals.

Please share good or bad experiences

I have completed a couple short sales on the buying side.  Besides the unreasonable deadlines, countless changes to the contract and commission, days waiting for an answer, buyer assuming the charges of many items "normally covered by seller's", and buying the buyer's home warranty myself, I don't understand what all the fuss is about. :)

I am surprised that this forum has not had any educational suggestions, are we that far out on the cutting edge? Those short sale "specialists" have made a lot of money and most of them are not agents so they did not necessarily have their clients best interest in mind. My hat is off to you for providing the leadership and make the attempt to help families. All we can do is keep trying while seeking to learn as we go.
