Campton Hills a bureaucracy amazes me. I feel that they dupe the public in many facets of their actions. They are definitely tax and spend democrats running uder the auspices of the Republican name. Nothing they do shocks me. Last week they sent one of their trustees to a Jim Oberweis function where he was overheard saying that he was an "alderman" for Campton Hills. They really are a broken bunch, but for whatever reason they may, and I do emphasize "may", seem to be getting one aspect of their political activities right.
From what the Kane County Chronicle reports, Campton Hills bureaucrats are actually considering revising, revamping or hopefully even rejecting and revoking the ban burn that Kane County implemented a few years back. I know that there are all of these people claiming to be suffering from allergies, and blah, blah, blah. My own daughter has allergies and the smoke of leaves does cause her to have an asthmatic reaction. But as parents we're smart enough to know that when we burn our leaves that she goes inside for the time that the burn goes on.
Let's be honest. The burn ban is stupid and there are a lot of people who don't even comply with it. You and I spend over 2% of our home value to pay taxes to live in a place that up until a few months ago (and hopefully in the future) was unincoporated. I don't live in a city so that I have the choice and opportunity to do what I want with my land. That includes burning leaves on my property annually if I'd like to.
I need to give the pundits at Campton the benefit of the doubt. With all of their lies and material misrepresentations it has been hard to do, but perhaps....I can admit that I am wrong, albeit for one issue, and hope that the candidates would listen to it's residents and repeal the burn ban act.
