ATLANTA MOTOR SPEEDWAY
I was raised in a small town in Ga. that is home to a local race track. My husband and I both have family members that raced. I can remember as a kid the cool thing to do was for my uncle to take us for a ride in his race car down an old dirt road. A kid in the 70's where seat-belts were unheard of. Oh the memories I still carry with me!!
I revisited those memories when I heard on the radio this morning that the Kobalt Tools 500 race will be held this Sunday at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Located 20 miles south of Atlanta, on 870 acres. The track consists of a 1.54 mile quad oval, turns of approx. 1/4 mile, banked 24 degrees and an infield of approx. 120 acres. My first visit to the Atlanta Motor Speedway was about 10 years ago. Definitely a sight to be seen for race fans.
