Why are so many people full of crap?

By
Commercial Real Estate Agent with Doyno Realty

In the commercial market we are being swamped by wannabees who try to latch onto anything and get 'a piece of the deal'!

We also get fraudsters galore!

If people got real they would do so much better, but they just see the dollar signs.

It's amazing how many of these people are not Realtors! They call themselves 'consultants'!

I suspect they 'consult' on pretty much anything rather than having any professional knowledge in any particular market.

If we as a profession refused to deal with these people, then what? Would they go away? I doubt it, but if we all checked these people out further and saw them for what a lot of them are, i think we would choose not to do business with them.

They often give you a bad name, and they don't care.

So please fellow Realtors... please check out who you are doing business with and ask a few awkward questions. A professional would expect this, but a wannabee wouldn't...

Let us raise our flag and protect it!

Paul, I totally agree with you and in the state of California you can go to the Department of Real Estate wesite and check on license status. About a year ago I had a guy send over a offer on one of my listings and it turns out he was not licensed.

Cameron

did you report him or what happened?

i wish something could be done that did not involve us wasting a lot of time, a whistleblowers site for example.

Paul,

You bet I did. Sent them copies of all the paperwork I had but never heard anymore about it.

I'm frustrated by the same HACKS you all are talking about.  In fact, it's made me get involved in my local association to help educate the Realtor population in my area.  Sadly, the unethical behavior in my area are mainly Realtors.
