funny, I was actually just wondering the same thing, so what I did is what I usually do when I wonder anything. I google it. Or in this case I use the search feature and typed in the key words "bonus points" and search all the activerain blogs.
I love that search feature! It sure does come in handy! (You can even try it to learn more about Short Sales!)
Umm..Johnny, I think that you are speaking of LINKING POINTS and NOT BONUS POINTS, but, hey, thanks for playing!

Check the search area, there is a blog from '06 talking about adding bonus points. ActiveRain gives bonus points manually for interesting/unique/helpful contributions. It is rather vague - 1000 points was given for a Blog that received the most responses.... I am sorry, I don't know how to link that blog here.... but check under search, it pops up right after this blog.
I received bonus points for posting photos previously.
However, I just recently posted photos again, and did not receive any bonus points.

Bonus Points on this website remain a mystery to me, but thank you for asking the question and giving me a few ideas.
I too do not know how to get bonus points. I blog with pictures. I have invited people and they have accepted. I have linked to website. Yet, no bonus points. If anyone knows please respond to this blog because it appears this is still a mystery.
Bonus Points under my "Score Summary" are a BIG FAT 0...I've earned points under every other category. I thought it might have something to do with having a Active Rain featured post, since I haven't had that pleasure.

Using the search feature to find "bonus points" is exactly what I did. It's a great way to find answers to any questions you have on Active Rain!
I am curious as to how one gets Bonus points, too. I used the AR search to find bonus points blogs. I will follow this to see if answers are provided.
