Photos from historic Duck Pond Area

This past weekend I was attracted to the annual Spring Promenade, which is a fundraiser for the Thomas Center gardens in Gainesville. The center sold tickets to tour six historic houses in the Duck Pond area. After seeing the first home and walking around at a snail's pace due to the crowd, I decided that it would be more fun to simply photograph some of my personal favorites in the neighborhood instead. Here are a few photos from my stroll:

I like your photos...I would have left the group also and taking photos of what we see can be so much more interesting :)

Wonderful shots!  Our magnificent oaks are why I moved to Gainesville.

Great photos, Jeremy!  I've been taking a lot of photos in Alachua County recently and the Duck Pond is certainly one of the target areas I'd like to shoot at some point!  There is nothing like these beautiful historic homes on a winding (slightly hilly) street.

As to Christine's comment:  I agree about the oaks.  I think that is certainly one of our crowning features here and definitely one of the things I love most about this area.

Photos I took last week of Farm in Gainesville off of Williston Road near Wacahoota Station.

I attended law school in Gainesville and considered it the most beautiful place I had seen up to that point.  It still ranks pretty high on my list.  The drive from G-ville to Ocala was really a treat.

Thanks for bringing back some great memories.

Rick
