Eye Balls and Cows Tails

By
Real Estate Agent with Long and Foster 703-368-1146

If nothing else, my title is going to catch your attention.  Now let's see if I can tie it into Real Estate!!

Long long ago I grew up on a farm.  We had animals and we had our own cows butchered.  The man that slaughtered them and took them to the meat cutter came our to the farm to work there.....and I got to watch:-O.  You have to know I was 10 and younger when this was going on so it was really fascinating.  Occasionally he'd let me have parts to play with..hence the cow's eye and tails.  The stomachs made great drums once they swelled up with gas, but my favorite thing was the eyeball I got to play with.  Next came the tail.  The skin of the tail made a great whip.  And it gave off an especially lovely odor when it got lost behind the seat in the truck just as summer was coming on.  My Dad wasn't really happy with that.. good thing it was Summer though so we could drive with the windows down.  But my all time favorite was the eye ball.  Since I'm sure some of you may be squeamish, I won't describe in detail how totally awesome the eye was to play with and roll around.. till I lost it too....down inside the couch!!!!  That one Mom had to dig out LOL

Anyway....see how awesome Farms can be and what fun experiences can be had for children.  Unfortunately the day of the smaller farm is rapidly dying away. Farming has had to develop and grow into big business as has happened with so many other industries.

The only thing I can say is if you love the outdoors and hard work, start looking for a small plot of land and give us a call with any questions you may have or better yet..We would love to be your agents running around in the country, slogging through the muc and getting lost on the backroads of Virginia and finding that "PERFECT" plot of heaven you are looking for!!!

Hey, Mary Ann!  I get squeamish at the Farm Women's Market in Bethesda when they describe the beef I'm about to buy as being so fresh that it was happily roaming around the farm yard a few days ago.  Still, if you're a carnivore, that's the way to eat meat!
