Brighton Michigan Community Events
Here’s what is coming up for the downtown Brighton Michigan area in the next week (August 25, 2013 – August 31, 2013). If you haven’t visited downtown Brighton lately, things are really hoppin’! – and poppin’!
The Brighton Kiwanis Concert at the Gazebo (Mill pond) series wraps up Sunday night, August 25th, with Steve King and the Dittilies, an annual favorite. Main Street will be closed at 6pm to allow for parking of classic cars. 150+ are expected, and with the FREE gazebo concert, this is a no-brainer for a great Sunday evening. Bring some lawn chairs and find a spot.
Have dinner at the Main Street Martini Bar, 440 Main, Ciao Amici’s, Brighton Bar & Grill, Sagano’s Steak House, Buon Gusto, or another great Brighton restaurant before or after the concert.
Got a little more energy? Perfect. Try Swingfusion at the millpond on Monday, August 26th. $1 (which goes to the Dance Project) gains you admission. Dance Project usually has lessons, too, so come on down and get in the swing.
Thursday the 29th, features Project 9 at the Downtown Main Martini Bar. Enjoy dinner, drinks or both.
Really have some energy? Great. Saturday the 31st is a ‘two-fer’. Farmer’s Market runs 8am-1pm, and the Imagination Station downtown kid’s park has a clean up day from 9am-noon. Combine the two for shopping pleasure and giving back a little to the community. I’ve done some Imagination Station stints, and the duty is light. Tools are generally provided, but bring your own gloves . They’re happy to accept an hour of your time to keep things looking good for the kids! Come on, you know you want to!
