One of the best parts of my job!
Today I get to give the keys to my buyer. I absolutely love giving buyers access to their new homes - their dreams and plans have a concrete beginning.
In northeast Ohio, we don't usually give the keys to a buyer at the closing table. There can be a one day delay to a 30 day delay, depending on the circumstances and the local customs. It isn't easy for buyers to wait, although they may be compensated for the delay in some way, either in a per diem, also known as a rent back, or through closing cost assistance or a price adjustment.
Today's buyer has patiently been waiting 30 days, and he is thrilled that the wait is over. Moving truck will be there tomorrow, today is the day to celebrate, take another look at the great house and mondo garage and land he has purchased, and make plans for the future.
Makes for an exciting day for everyone.
