This was lucky. I read in a comment somewhere that an ambassador had pictures on their profile, so there may be hope. Sure enough, I poked around and found that Jeff Dowler had some on his. Not sure if this was who that comment was referencing or not, but it gave me confidence that there was a way!
So, I went back to my old profile post, opened it, and made sure it was in edit mode. I tested it by coping and pasting the first picture....and, it worked. Well not exactly the way I wanted it (since apparently you can't format it with the text around it). Instead, you can basically add a picture before or after a paragraph.
So, I hunted around for some that were more horizontal (rather than vertical) and created a new draft post and just copied and pasted from there. I couldn't seem to center them, but something is better than nothing. You can see what I did here - Debbie Gartner's profile
I still will need to edit my header image as it's kind of messed up, by I'll be like Scarlett and think about that tomorrow (or next weekend).
I care about the pictures a lot. Why? Well first and foremost, because the customer does. And, if it's better for the customer, it's better for us and better for google. People read more and stay on pages longer with pictures. Second, pictures, especially for me, help communicate what I do and what makes the flooring special. And, third, I had some links from pinterest here....and I wll create some more soon.
Hope this is helpful. This solves one of my pet peeves with the new profile. I think the new profile is great, but this was a big outage in my mind. My other pet peeves are: 1) pls correct my title to be contractor or contractor/builder (not residential home buildger), 2) pls expand the # of characters for the license #...I'm short one character of being legal and 3) pls nix that orange - it looks cheap and does not go with my brand equity of quality. Either change it to blue or allow us to customize it.
Now, I think I'm done. I'm sorry if I offended anyone. And, I do love a lot about the new profiles and I know there was a lot of great and hard work that went into this. Now, hopefully, they can take it to the next level.
