Back to School with Feng Shui for Children
School is just around the corner and its time to help your children become re-grounded in having self discipline and focus to absorb new knowledge and information. Feng Shui can be one of many tools to help with that process and maintain that type of energy all year long. That principle is the same for teachers and parents. It's takes a village to raise one child, so ideally if all are grounded with their personal energy, teaching and guiding your children with learning could be that much more efficient and easier.
Lets start with the basics....
A child's bedroom is their domain. It is the first place they really get to explore who they are and begin to form a basic connection with themselves. If you can offer a solid platform for them to build from, that is one of the best blessing you can give them.
- encourage and help your children clean out thier bedroom of summer time cobwebs. From a feng shui perspective this is creating a clean palette for the new school year. Clearing away any unnecessary distractions helps to refocus their energy and symbolizes making room for new information to flow into their life.
- If space allows in their bedroom and you find your children have better study habits in that location of the house, create a small study area with a simple desk that offers easy to organize storage. This visually reminds your children when studying this is the place to bunker down and be focused. At the same time it helps to create simple structure and a positive habit of prioritizing their time for school studies.
- to kick off the school year, perhaps gift them with something that promotes " knowledge." Maybe with a motivational poster, statue or cartoon character that encourages study and learning. Perhaps a brand new backpack or something related to that concept.
put up a simple "accomplishments board" or dedicate one wall to highlight their school year accomplishments such as with passing test scores, art work, certificates, what ever associates with them. This accomplishment board (wall) is a tool to keep them motivated and you can easily rotate old achievements with new ones.
- And remember, children are still children. Allow them that time to play and have fun. Be sure you do the same in allowing time to relax. Having a balance between work and play is on of the keys to a healthy and happy spirit and lifestyle.
