Unique Marketing Tips: October
Here are a few ideas to help spur you into some unique marketing ideas for the month of October! If you'd like assistance in designing even more ideas or implementing a unique marketing campaign, just give me a holler!
October:
5 - Do Something Nice Day - Just do something nice for someone and see how it snowballs!
5 - World Teacher Day - Celebrate with others around the world to show teachers just how appreciated and special they are.
13 - International Skeptics Day - This is the day for skeptics to air all the things that they don't believe and get all their questions answered.
19 - Evaluate Your Life Day - This day is an opportunity to reflect on your life and make the appropriate changes.
25 - World Pasta Day - Celebrate the wonders of pasta and it's nutritional value.
For each holiday, you can come up with a twist to make it related to real estate in some way. Here are some suggestions for you:
October 5 - Do Something Nice Day- Yet another opportunity to get in front of your sphere of influence, farm neighborhood, or other contacts, "Do Something Nice Day" is the perfect opportunity to just help people get to know you. This is a great day to host a brunch, neighborhood block party, or any other similar event. When folks come in, be sure to collect their contact information and personally introduce yourself.
October 5 - World Teacher Day - We all appreciate the teachers in our lives (and if we don't, we should!). Use "World Teacher Day" to show them just how much you appreciate them and, at the same time, use it as a marketing opportunity - targeting teachers! Plan to host a breakfast, lunch, or just bringing in treats for the teachers at one or more schools in your area. Have special cards made that you can give out to each teacher who attends. Also, be sure you have a special packet of information (maybe even a Powerpoint presentation saved on a CD) that gives teachers specific information about buying a home, mortgage specials in your area, or programs specific to teachers.
October 13 - International Skeptics Day - Let's face it... There are many people who do not attempt to buy simply because they are skeptical that they actually can. "International Skeptics Day" is the perfect time to answer their questions, put them at ease, and (most importantly) let them see YOU as the one who help them! This is a great holiday to partner with a lender on. Tag-team your event, which should be held at a community location - the community center, a church or somewhere similar would be best. Give the event a catching name that keeps the "International Skeptics Day" title in it.
October 19 - Evaluate Your Life Day - Typically in our early 30s, we start to wonder if our life is on the course we wished it were. "Evaluate Your Life Day" gives people the excuse to actually think about where they are and where they would like to be. Many of us start to think about owning our own home at this point. Sponsor a fun event, complete with a survey to fill out that will help people think about "the road not travelled" in a non-pressure way.
October 25 - World Pasta Day - Pasta is a very nutritious food and who loves pasta more than kids? Maybe their parents, since it is typically so easy to cook! Why not sponsor your own "World Pasta Day" event by providing a free dinner to your farm or sphere of influence? Cook up a big batch of speghetti or mac-n-cheese and invite everyone in! A free dinner for your contacts means the parents don't have to cook and you get to make personal contact (again!). It's a win-win!
The point is to get your name out there, get in front of your leads and your contacts. Make a name for yourself by doing things that others in your field aren't. Stand out from the crowd!
