My Famous Office Supplies

It's that time again.... time to host another Agent Open House!

I'm not a huge fan of hosting agent open houses - primarily because they always seem to revolve around food - and a skilled chef I am not.  My usual agent open house fare is what I have termed my "Famous Strawberry Pizza".  (It's only claim to fame is that it's one of about four food items that I make...)  What is 'strawberry pizza' you ask?  It's a quick, easy recipe with one key ingredient:  Pillsbury Crescent Rolls.  (Most of my "famous" foods have Crescent Rolls at their roots - my 'breakfast pizza' for example.)

At any rate... one of my sellers recently asked if I thought an agent open house would be a good idea.  And, while I don't think they're ideal for every property - having one at this house really does make sense.  It's a BIG house, much bigger than it appears just driving by.  There are essentially two basements - one of which extends under the garage (which is almost unheard of - at least in our area....)  And, the house could use some updating.  So between wanting other Realtors to see just how much space is packed into this house - and to get some feedback about our current decor - I agreed to play hostess yet again.

I just assumed I'd serve up my usual, but then I found these ADORABLE paper napkins that look like notebook paper - and I was inspired to put them to good use.

From my notebook paper inspiration I thought about supplying school supplies with a "Help me with my HOMEwork kind of theme."  I bought these little metal buckets in which to display my school supplies and I even prepared a cute little "quiz" for my open house attendees with questions like:

What should my sellers do to result in a quicker sale?

a.  Install new carpet.

b.  Lower the asking price.

c.  Repaint the walls.

d.  None of the above.

and

True or False     I have a buyer that I need to bring to see this house.

But, then I decided we could actually expect better Realtor traffic once all the Realtor's kids were back in school.... so it eventually morphed into an office supply give-away idea.  (I'm still using the bucket and the quizes, but I'm saving those ADORABLE napkins for some future inspiration.)

I only bought good stuff - stuff that I would be happy to have in case no one comes by my open house.  I think it's cute, and it's different (than my Strawberry Pizza).  I made and delivered flyers, sent emails, posted it on Facebook, and then sat and blogged about it - so we'll see how it goes tomorrow:)

This is a great idea for an open house.  Let us know what happens.  I'm betting on a great success.
