I haev had the pleasure of running a business in Austin, Texas and I enjoyed (almost) every miunte of being there. I was not surprised to see another validation for all of the reasons that I loved it there.  During the ownership of several dermatology and plasti csurgery network centers there, I enjoy all that Austin has to offer. My company touted Austin as a great place to live in order to attract more doctors and staff.  Soooo many publicatuions listed the reasons to live in Austin. "Awesome Austin" as I formerly called it.

You’ve probably heard the saying, “early to bed/early to rise/makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise.” If you just are concerned with the first two benefits and you don’t like hitting the sack before the sun goes down, however, you might consider a move to Austin, Texas instead. According to a recently-published RealtyTrac survey, Austin not only is the best place in the country for “real estate wealth” but also for the health of its residents. In addition to evaluating the state of the housing market in various metro areas, analysts also considered “level of activeness among residents, chronic disease incidence rates, fast food per capita, percentage of smokers, percentage of heavy drinkers, and air quality.” Health of the housing market was determined by evaluating unemployment, foreclosure discounts, and home price appreciation.

Daren Blomquist, RealtyTrac’s vice president, noted that “while many families have many good options across the country in terms of places where healthy living is evident and the prospect of appreciating homes is solid, there are some markets that clearly stand head and shoulders above the rest.” Austin was followed by Fargo, North Dakota, and Fayetteville, Arkansas. Other states with healthy and wealthy metro areas included South Dakota, Utah, North Carolina, California, Tennessee, Montana, Wyoming, and Iowa.

Austin seems to be the place to be!!!
