The Little Red River From A Buyer's Prospective
Part Three: The Best Spot For You
Well enough about canoeing.
Let's talk about fishing. Slam dunk, if you are a fly fisherman you are going to be interested in a spot close to one of the shoals. There are a lot of folks up here that literally just step into the river from their property and they are on their favorite spot.
One does not have to have property on a shoal to be wading quickly. A short boat ride is all it takes to get from deep water to skinny water and the same is true for a short ride in the car. There is good fly fishing available at the public access points at Kennedy Park at the dam, Barnett Access at swinging bridge, Libby Access on highway 337, and the access on highway 110 at Pangburn.
It boils down to this: If you own riverfront property with deep water you can bottom fish from your dock or go by boat to your favorite hole, or boat up river or down river to get to a wadeable area. If your property is on skinny water you can wade right there, but you can still drive to other walk-in access areas or launch a boat at one of the public ramps and motor to your fishing spot. Lots of options.
