Nashville is a trending town. For crying out loud, we have a television show named after our town and a new convention center with a four acres of grass on top of it. We have the Tennessee Titans and the Nashville Predators. One could say that Nashville is very "hip". But, how does a bedroom community of Nashville where one of the most visited locations is the senior center and the local baptist church that just celebrated its 100th birthday become one of the most "hip" communities in Nashville?
The answer......Facebook. Frank Trew and his team have taken a simple Facebook page, a simple community, and made it "hip". Hip Donelson has been trending upward since the page began in 2009. What was once a simple page to help people in the community find their lost pets and announce yard sales, has become a place where people of Donelson and the surrounding areas come on a daily basis to see what is going on in this buzzing community. Hip Donelson now has a board of directors and is so active in the community, the website is now defining the community. From supporting the local businesses to starting a farmer's market and organizing local events, HipD, as it is now know, has brought a sense of community to an area that was on the brink of losing it. Currently over 6700 facebook member, everyone knows what is going on in the community and has a place to call home. Check out their websites and start making your community a hip one.
