2013 Forever Family Ride destination Red Feather Lakes

Labor Day Weekend, Fire Days, Fireworks, Thunder in the Rockies Bike Rally- 2013 Forever Family Ride.   It’s a great weekend to be in Red Feather and a great weekend to help out a child in need.

“Every mile”  (to Red Feather)  “helps a child.”

Sunday, September 1st is the 2013 Forever Family Ride; a charity ride for the Realities for Children Charities Emergency Fund.

I was excited to learn about this ride because the riders who leave out from Thunder Mountain in Loveland on Sunday morning will be coming to Red Feather Lakes.   There is no sound quite like 200, 300, maybe even 400?! roaring engines driving down the road toward the Wandering Moose Restaurant in Red Feather.  It's exciting and it truly is the sound of Thunder in the Rockies.

It is particularly exciting and heart-warming to know that all of these riders are riding to help abused or neglected children in Larimer County.

Do I ride? NO!  (Go down to Freemont Street in Vegas and the photographer will photo- shop your face onto a body sitting on a bike too- I added in the Boy Scout Rd. in Red Feather)

Do I want to support Realities for Children? YES!

If you ride, you can go to  www.foreverfamilyride.com  and sign up for the Rally. The ride will be led out by Opie (Ryan Hurst).  There will be Prize Drawings, Giveaways and several other events including a great price on tickets for the Charlie Daniels Concert back in Loveland at 8:00 p.m.

Not to mention a very scenic ride to Red Feather Lakes!!

If you don’t ride, but would like to help, you can donate to Realities for Children on their website. REALITIES FOR CHILDREN  provides emergency funding for abused, neglected and at-risk youth in Larimer County.

Last year’s rally was huge, I read they broke a record and had over 1,000 riders- maybe that was bikes?!  This year, the ride is limited to 400 bikes and is expected to sell out.

Just another great thing happening in Red Feather Lakes this weekend!

This sounds like an amazing event. I love charities of any kind anyway. We just had our Serentity Run. There were a few hundred motorcyclists in town, but not nearly what you are describing.

Hi Mary...I thought you were going to tell us about some horseback riding but these are machines with loads of horse power. It's a great cause and that is what counts.

Hi Mary!  I always knew you were a biker chick at heart!  Who are you trying to kid?  This is a great cause and yes there is nothing quite like several hundred Harley 74's thundering down the highway.  Are Hell's Angels welcome???

Hi Debbie, it is a huge rally, I'm so happy that Red Feather gets to be a part of it. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a great weekend.

Thanks Kate, it IS all about the charity; now,  horses would be a great idea and something to see, too!

Hi Bruce, 'a biker chick only at heart! I imagine Hell's Angels will be riding, but I don't know for sure. It will be a terrific roar for a wonderful cause.  As for the "Ann Margaret hair", (that's funny Bruce)  in real life it would be tied up and probably in a helmet, otherwise it's like combing your hair with a egg  beater:-) Thanks, Bruce.

Hi William, I hope they raise a ton of money, too, that's what it's all about.  The photo is just for fun, thanks William!

Hi Dorie, you know the last time I was on a bike I was holding on for dear life- our friend thought it hilarious to drive like a crazed idiot person. I swore if I got off the bike alive I would never get on one again! Thanks Dorie, I hope they raise a lot of money for the kids, too!
