Donut Friend 5701 York Boulevard in Highland Park - Coming Soon September 2013

Come on - you know you want to try it. With much anticipation, Donut Friend is scheduled to open next week(the first of week of September 2013) at 5107 York Boulevard(between Avenue 51 and Avenue 52) in the Highland Park neighborhood in the city of Los Angeles.

I first heard the buzz back in May or so. While thoughts of the many creative concoctions that have been making news in the wonderful world of donuts, Donut Friend has an almost single focus in their menu -- yes, quality, locally sourced, organic donuts.

This is no ordinary donut shop -- check out their website www.donutfriend.com and find high quality, donuts either created by you or one of their signature combinations including the Jets to Basil or Chocolate from the Crypt, Nutellavision or Bacon 182...come on….check out that website for so many more choices. The menu is incredible. You will find organic fruit, artisan jams, gourmet cheeses, nuts as well as vegan or gluten free varieties.

Yes, this is not just another donut shop -- I for one, can’t wait to try Donut Friend in Highland Park.

John - okay, you're in.

Will - sounds like a plan.

Regina - that's the plan -- hopefully, it will happen.

Roy - I haven't yet seen the price list(it's not on the current website). I have a feeling, it's going to be a bit pricier than the typical donut shop.

Amanda - I'm not sure which one will be my first to try.

Brad - there's also an ice cream shop next door and one of my current favorite restaurants just down the street - Sonny's Hideaway.

Scott - I think one will be okay -- you can cut it up into smaller pieces....you know, I think that saves some calories....

Joy - donut fiend..haha

Kristin - that's the plan for a follow-up. Stay cool this weekend -- that's going to be a challenge for sure.

Dick - I going to have to check how well they will ship -- will you be the guinea pig?

Erin and Sharon(hey, that rhymes) -- I think I should mark a correction --- actually organic fruit fillings are available on some of the donuts.

Alexandra and Ron - I'll keep you posted.

Bob - well have you heard of the cro-nut(combination of croissant and donut)? The faux-nut? Some many variations and combinations.

Laura - I'm thinking Donut Friend will be tempting many.
