Hello again and thank you all so much for making me feel so welcome. I am looking forward to networking my way through this site and making many contacts!

As far as closings go, I can tell you stories.  How long do you have?? The funniest was recently when the borrower changed the location from his home to his place of business.  His work location was a retail liquor store.  Needless to say it was the first time I performed a closing next to a cash register, stopping periodically to accomodate his customers.  I should have been offered samples, lol!  One thing that ALWAYS makes a closing go sideways is when the borrower(s) don't have identification.  It never fails, I call to confirm, advise them to make sure they have a valid government issued photo id.  You'd be amazed at the level of excuses and the requests to go on without it.  No, No, No, Sorry.  I've even had a woman's sister show up when the sister couldn't be there to sign and she said "I can sign her name perfectly"!!  A closing that brought me to tears was when the borrowers proceeded to read EACH AND EVERY WORD OF AT LEAST A-HUNDRED PAGES OF CLOSINGS DOX.  Now I start my closings by simply pointing out that they have THREE days to read their copy of the documents AFTER I leave in case they change their minds!

To all you mortgage/lenders out there, how can I be placed on your rotation to perform your closings in my area?

I have to give a shout-out to Tony Negrete of Negrete's Notaries in Ohio.  He and his staff have been so good to me since I started in this business.  I DO NOT work with many signing companies, but I will always work for Tony.  They are the best in the business and have a flawless reputation!  Keep up the good work.

Thanks again for listening!

Also, how come my post doesn't show up for me to read, but you guys can all see it?  What section is it coming up in? (Newbies, sorry)
