I went to ride by a house I was curious about-small, weird shape, no interior photos but I knew it was a nice block and a nice price! I was surprised to see not only was this house beautiful outside but not weird shaped at all-it was just photographed that way! If the agent would have taken the picture from a different angle you would very clearly see how nice this house was and how big and spacious it was especially from the side view and the beautiful yard etc. This led me to believe the intention was not to encourage many viewers so the agent could sell the house himself-WHICH HE DID. After all, wouldn't you want to take the most flattering picture of the house? What do you think?
I agree--would love to see it!!!
I have been wondering the same many times over, not so much about bad shots of the front of the house, but the lack of any interior pictures. MRIS (our MLS here) lets you upload up to 30 pictures for free, which will then go as tour on many of the consumer websites. So if there aren't any pictures, the assumption of course is that it must look pretty bad, poorly decorated, an estate sale, need a lot of work, or whatever.
If you then happen to show it and it looks just fabulous, that makes me really suspicious, like the agent is dicurouging others from showing it in order to pick up a buyer from an open house. Same with "by appointment only" which makes the property drop to the bottom of the list for many agents. When you then show it and learn from the owner that the agent SUGGESTED not to put up a lockbox, that makes me so mad.
