Hint it is in Culver City, CA and it is on Washington Blvd. Let me know, I do not want to cloud your judgment, look at this picture and tell me if I am wrongJ

Hi Endre - The one's in the grocery store are best avoided, because they probably have the lowest quality chocolate you can sell without getting arrested. The concept is excellent, though, so congrats if you have found a place where they take Ding Dongs seriously - I await your post, and the addition off another item on my must-visit list the next time I'm in LA.

Endre - A true Hostess Ding Dong is small (3") round chocolate cake with a soft cream filling, and the entire cake and filling is completely covered with chocolate, then wrapped in tin foil, like a little present of pure heaven. I'm sure it is just as delicious in the square form, but the round tin foil item is the iconic shape. Personally, I'm a Ho-Ho fan, especially if they've been in the freezer! This would be why I have to be on a diet! Too much Ding Dong and Ho Ho knowledge! : )

One more assent that supermarket chocolate is the worst. Agree with Laura that ding dongs should be round! The ones in your picture look fresh, sumptuous and amazing!! I just read that the Twinkie is back. I remember enjoying both of these treats as a child.
