I somehow missed the news the other day about your passing Allen, though we all knew it was only a matter of time. In all my years on this earth, I have never seen anyone as gracious and gallant in the face of adversity as you, my friend. I remember the first day we spoke on the phone those many years ago. I hung up smiling, knowing I was heading in the right direction, following you into the still young cyber world.
I value the years spent with your CyberStars as much as any in my life. You, and this incredible group spawned by the fertile minds of a select few led me to great highs and on a never ending search for the newest innovations and the best way to get the job done. But so much more than that, you taught me humility and grace. I never once heard you say, why me. Instead, you told us over and over again how fortunate you were for the people in your world and the lessons you were privileged to learn.
Your call to me, a few years ago, when life threw me a monkey wrench, was just what I needed, to know "this too would pass" and that I had friends who cared. You know, I'm sure, just how much our daily visits on Facebook meant to me, when you were, in the end, relegated to spending more time at home. As long as I could find you there, I knew you were okay.
I miss you my friend, as I have every day since your path took you to a place where interaction was difficult, if not impossible. But as much as I do, I know your spirit is shining in your new home. I also know you were greeted by all those loving souls who passed before you. Be happy in your new life. I'm sure you'll teach them a thing or two.
God bless you Allen Hainge.
