Waynesville's 44th Annual Ohio Sauerkraut Festival October 12 & 13 2013
The good citizens of Waynesville Ohio are out to prove that sauerkraut isn't just for hot dogs! Now in it's 44th year, the Waynesville Sauerkraut Festival is another one of the big Warren County festivals that you don't want to miss! How could you pass up the chance to have sauerkraut ice cream? Okay, maybe that's not QUITE to your taste, but perhaps one of the other many ways of preparing sauerkraut will be to your liking.
And if sauerkraut isn't actually your thing, how about the 450+ vendors that will be at the festival? With arts and crafts from throughout the country, and screened by the selection committee to make sure they're handcrafted and not some off the shelf kitsch!
This year's event is scheduled for October 12th & 13th. Saturday hours are 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. and Sunday hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Now one thing to keep in mind, Parking! You MIGHT find a place in one of the neighboring areas, but you might spend a lot of time looking for an elusive place to park. The far easier thing to do is go to Wayne Local High School on Dayton Road. The Athletic Boosters will be running shuttle buses back and forth, and this will make your day FAR easier!
A couple of other things to consider: rain or shine, this event happens! And don't bring your pets! Service animals only please! And no alcohol either, helping make sure the event stays family friendly.
How do you get to the Sauerkraut Festival? It's actually pretty easy! From I-71, take SR73 west about four miles. From I-75, take SR73 east about 15 miles. Since RT 42 comes through, you've got other options from the north and south sides.
We hope you have a great time!
