This very popular Carlsbad art event is happening soon – less than 4 weeks away!

Carlsbad ArtSplash 2013 on September 28 and 29 is a popular annual 2-day outdoor arts fair taking place on Armada Drive overlooking the Carlsbad Flower Fields and the ocean.

As in past years. Carlsbad Artsplash 2013 is all about promoting the arts, and raising funds to benefit art and music programs in the local community.

Carlsbad ArtSplash is probably best known for the street chalk art contest with dozens of talented chalk artists creating their masterpieces in chalk on the road (I sponsored one last year and will again in 2013). You, too, can be a patron of the arts and advertise your business by sponsoring a chalk square, or buy a smaller square for kids to create their own chalk art to help support Carlsbad ArtSplash 2013.

In addition to watching the chalk art unfold, you’ll find plenty of other artists and works of art to admire and of course purchase – paintings, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, and so much more.

In addition to multiple dancing and music demos, the Taste at ArtSplash, an annual favorite, takes place Saturday from 12 to 3, where you can sample a multitude of foods from popular area restaurants; the charge for the Taste at ArtSplash is $20.

There will be plenty of live entertainment, too, to suit every taste.

Carlsbad ArtSplash 2013 is open (free admission) on Saturday from 10 until 6 and on Sunday from 10 until 5 on Armada Drive off of Palomar Airport Road just east of the 5 freeway.
