Back To Basics
The single most successful technique I used this year is back to basics. Although I have a healthy respect for the internet, social media and all the exposure that goes with it, I started off the year with a commitment to personally contact either by phone or by visiting all of my local clients and past clients. For those out of state I phoned and sent snail mail cards that could be seen and touched. There is a lack of personal and real communication that is lacking today and I found that everyone was so appreciative of my going out of my way to reach out to them that referrals began coming in and past customers who might not have thought to call me for their next real estate transaction put me in first place. We all love the human touch and it is going by the wayside in today’s overly technological world. After making contact, I updated all my information about them including asking for birthdays, anniversaries, etc. and any new additions like kids or pets. Yes, you can bet that another card went out, in the mail, marking each of these special days. I added their closing date to the special days and then made sure to send them a really great card through SendOutCards with a photo of their home on it marking their purchase anniversary. I am sure that to the high-tech people out there this sounds so old fashioned and time consuming but it is paying off for me and I am enjoying getting in touch with everyone again. I will continue to utilize all of the great technology I have learned to use and do not in any way disparage it but sometimes you just have to go backwards to go forward
