On these Hot Days make sure you hydrate yourself as well as your pets!

In case you have not heard:  Breaking news is that the temperatures will remain in the 100 degree range in the majority of the Greater Los Angeles area.

On these hot days make sure you have enough water to hydrate yourself as well as your four legged friend. Dogs need to drink too. So often I see people walking their dogs and the dogs tongue is hanging out and panting. This is a clear sign your pet needs some water.

As the temperatures hover over the 100 degree mark in the San Fernando Valley as well as Downtown Los Angeles, please make sure that you both have enough water to hydrate yourselves.

This post is not meant to be condescending, rather just a quick reminder from your Pet Friendly Realtor as a public service message.

While I am on the subject do not leave your dog or dogs in the car either, bring them with you where ever you go. They will thank you for it with lots of kisses and tail waggingJ.

BTW it is hot even in Marina Del Rey, CA we have had 79-81 degrees daily! So this advice applies even on the Beach Cities of Marina Del Rey, Venice, Santa Monica and even Malibu!

Endre: Good reminder. And don't leave your pet in a car! Even with the windows partially open. When it's that hot, my suggestion, keeping them inside in air conditioning. Really.

I agree with you 100% Endre, we need to drink more water. I really got a better understanding of this while traveling to Phoenix.

Hi Endre - this is defintely something that seems like common sense but we hear/read stories where people have left their kids and/or pets in the cars "for just a minute".    Keeping ourselves and our four-legged pets hydrated during these sizzling days is quite important.

Endre, It gets hot and humid here in Cincinnati, but rare is the 100+ day.  Our nights have cooled and my phone says it's 55 outside at 7 a.m. with a high of 80.  Regardless, always have to keep an eye on our pets to make sure they're not getting overheated.

We lived in SFV for 8 years, Endre. The heat was dry but it was hot. Funny, it always cooled way down at night--didn't need air.

Cute dog!

Agreed agreed agreed.  When we lived in Wisc my dogs always went with me everywhere and they just stayed in the car.  Here in SW Florida, no way.  I don't even like to go out.  Is that last pic a view from your home?  If it is, I'm Jealous.  Beautiful dog.

Hella generally we do not have issues too often where you and I live...

Tom, I was in Phoenix, AZ oh about 25 plus years ago and that is when they broke a record heat 115 degrees for the first time....needless to say my friend educated me about drinking water...

Michael it should be common sense but it does not hurt to remind everyone:)

Endre, as you know, we well know about the importance of water.  I put ice cubes in my "boys" water dish and it's inside.

Also, I make ice cubes from organic, salt free/fat free chicken broth for my guys and they get a refreshing cool down treat whenever they come inside from doing their duty outside - even in that very short time, anything wearing a fur coat can get over heated quickly!!!

Thanks for the reminder.
