Where Is That Run-Away Bulldozer When I Need It?

I know that it has been often said, that there is a parcel of real estate for everyone. But every now and then, I run into a piece that is a real challenge and every room and section is a new adventure.
Now, I do not consider myself to be a lazy person, but there are days when I just do not want to work THAT hard. After exhausting the battery in the main camera, I pulled out my back-up and exhausted the battery in that one. In all, I took over 350 pictures that I am still sorting through.

<Sigh> Well, break time is over. Time to get back and start sorting through the remaining 250 pictures. Thankfully, I picked up a bag of coffee yesterday...

Hi Michael,

Was this house a complete disaster or what?? Hope 350 pictures were not on one home you inspected!

You need a few breaks after 350 photos. If all are inspection related, that is a serious amount of volume.

I chicken out on that many photos. I take a photo of the condition and note it in the photo section as "Example of.....defect" I guess I have never felt it necessary to show each and every incidence of a defect. Since in a case like that the comment is almost always going to be "Refer to a licensed whatever for further evaluation." or on occasion "Service, repair or replace to correct."

If a picture is worth a thousand words you may just have your first novel. ;-)

ZAPPPPP - 350 photos for ONE house. As you said, it musta really been a mess. Maybe we can see a few samples in a future blog, so we won't feel that some houses we are stuck with are all that bad....

Never, ever heard an inspectorin 30 years in this business having to snap over 350 pics for one residenial home!! but have when I do commercial and industral buildings.

I've been in those properties, starting out in leasing a few years ago when I had to pay my dues. I vividly remember walking into a property, making a 15 second lap through the kitchen and living room, and walking straight back out the front door. I called the owner and said, you'll need to knock it down and rebuild if you want to rent it.

I can't believe the buyers didn't run away when they first viewed the property. GOOD LUCK!

It's no longer a report but a novel. Each room get's it's own chapter.

Funny!  And loads of cameras.  My inspector picks up used cameras as he "plows" through them quickly as well.  Great blog!

Michael, Know how that one goes. I have been shooting a Cannon D-20 and I can usually get 400 pics or better on it.
