Bring in the Juice Video - Fun Things to do in Bastrop TX
As I have said in several prior blogs, Houston and the surrounding areas including Katy are really not known as vacation destination locations. I am sure there are folks who would disagree with me. The simple fact is this area has a few things of interest for vacationers but is not really a vacation hot spot with many fun things to do for a vacation of any kind. One of the many advantages to living in Katy is both Austin and San Antonio are vacation destination locations. Bastrop is only 20 miles south east of Austin and probably could be sort of considered a suburb of Austin. ( maybe?) These cities have numerous things to do and see with the surrounding areas comprising what is called the Texas Hill Country.
We were fortunate enough to travel to the Hyatt Regency Hotel named Lost Pines located on Route 71 just on the western side of Bastrop on Monday Labor day. We like to sneak away for a few days and just do Straight up Chillin. My son laughs out loud every time he hears me use the term Straight up Chillin. We stayed until early Wednesday morning as we both had to get back to work.
Lost Pines is located near the Colorado river which is the 18TH largest river in the US. Immediately next door is a park named Mckinney Roughs which is part of the Lower Colorado River Authority system. This park has over 1,100 acres of land and is a cool place to hike, ride a horse, look for wildlife, watch birds, and just relax. The Lost Pines resort is the subject of my video as I shot a movie of the Crooked River in the resort.
Lost Pines has numerous things for both adults and children to do. There is an excellent golf course on the grounds. Check it out and tell me what you.
