The US National Whitewater center in Charlotte NC is a really cool place on the Catawba River where you can go whitewater rafting, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, moutain biking, rock climbing and much more! They also have a zip line for those really brave souls! Here is a short video of the build your own boat contest they held Labor Day Weekend 2013.

What a cool place!  There is a spot on the river, in downtown Reno, NV that has been customized for kayaks, etc.  -- it brings back memories of that for me.  Thanks for sharing this!  Eric
