For you animal lovers, Friday is going to be a day you don’t want to miss. Maybe you are in a volunteering mood, looking to adopt a pet, or just want to play with some cats and dogs; well, the Bahamas Human Society has it all. They are hosting their BHS Adopt-a-Thon tomorrow AND Saturday from 8:00am-8:00pm. Feel free to go by even if you are not interested in adopting; there will be ample opportunity for you to help out. Please call Linda Gill-Aranha if you are interested in lending a hand. Also, if you would like to donate drinks or finger food, it would be appreciated. 323-5138.

Get your good deeds in on Friday and Saturday, 6:00pm, at the Coin Drive Fundraiser. The event will be held at Gone Fish’n in Arawak Cay, and is a way to raise money for the Northern Bahamas Council for the Disabled to get a bus for its members! Bring your donations, eat some good Bahamian food, enjoy free lemonade, and have fun. Email coindrivebahamas@gmail.com for more information.

If you are looking for a more quiet Friday evening, check out the French Movie Club’s film of the night— La Désintégration. Philippe Faucon directed this film, and it evolves around the ghettoization of French youngsters who, coming from an immigrant background, have inherited the discrimination that comes with it, as well as a foreign name and genetic inheritance. The movie starts at 6:30pm sharp and is at Ocean Place in Cable Beach. There will be English subtitles. Free for members and 5$ donation for non-members.
