Well, the dog days of summer are almost over, although Mother Nature has not received the memo yet, since we are still having some warm humid days. That’s okay though, because the Poway community is ready to get on their cowboy hats and celebrate being one the greatest cities known for being a little bit country in the county of San Diego, California.
The Poway Days events begin tomorrow with a 5K Fun Run/one mile walk, “Walk in the Park” and don’t forget the Pancake Breakfast in the Community Park. Go Kiwanis! Then there’s the Parade at 9am, it should be a festive day yahoo!
Of course, there is the 41st Annual Poway Rodeo that starts on September 27th at the Poway Valley riders Association grounds. It’s always a big turnout as we have many horse enthusiasts that saddle up in the area.
Poway Days extends into October, on the 6th, when they have an Annual Tour de Poway Fun Bike Ride and a HOBO Campfire Sing-A-Long on October 11th. Try not to miss the Barn dance on the 12th, they call it Rendezvous in Poway and it should be a really nice time…
Poway also is home to an award-winning school district in San Diego County. There are currently over a hundred active detached homes in the area that are available. The home prices range from the mid $300’s all the way up to $20 million and many area residents enjoy living in the country in the city. Poway is also lucky to have Lake Poway where they have night fishing in October and they are also host to the Poway Center for the Performing Arts, which has some great shows coming up this month. Well, what are you waiting for? Get a little bit country; Poway Days are starting tomorrow.
