Fall Festivals To Check-Out Around the MetroplexSummer will soon be a thing of the past, but for Dallas home owners, the year is just getting started! Now that both college and NFL football have returned, many are readying themselves for a variety of upcoming fall festivals. Whether you're a fan of pumpkins, wine, Big Tex, or all three, here's a look at what's on tap for Dallas home owners this fall!

Grapefest: If you love wine, Grapefest in Grapevine has your name all over it! It's taking place from September 12-15, and the event features grape-stomping, wine tasting, a winery shuttle tour, and the People's Choice Wine Tasting Classic. It's a great way to sample Texas' best wines, and because the event also offers a variety of kid-friendly events like a carnival and midway with games, it's fun for the whole family! www.grapevinetexasusa.com/grapefest.

Addison Oktoberfest: Munich is a long plane ride away, but if you're looking for an Oktoberfest fix closer to your Dallas home, fortunately Addison is a quick car ride. Addison Oktoberfest has traditional Bavarian events like polka, yodeling, and of course German beer and sausages, so it's a great way to spend the weekend. It's all taking place from September 19-22 at Addison Circle Park. www.addisontexas.net.

Plano Balloon Festival: Hot air balloon lovers generally flock to New Mexico when they want to see a fantastic display, however, Plano's Balloon Festival is just as glamorous and a lot more proximate. Sponsored by Intouch Credit Union, it's taking place September 20-22 at Oak Point Park in Plano. Balloons take to the skies during the day, and are lit up and tethered in the evenings on display. www.planoballoonfest.org.

Autumn at the Arboretum: Autumn in the Arboretum is a fantastic fall event that kicks off on September 21, but it runs until November 27 so you can go more than once to take in everything. This year, the new Rory Meyers Children's Adventure Garden will make its debut, and other attractions include over 50,000 pumpkins and gourds on display, a pumpkin patch, and gorgeous fall flowers. www.dallasarboretum.org.

Greek Food Festival of Dallas: Spanakopita and baklava lover? If so, you won't want to miss the Greek Food Festival of Dallas from September 27-29! Here, you can nosh on the aforementioned traditional Greek dishes, and others including gyros, dolmas, Greek wine and beer, and more. There will also be live music and traditional folk dancing. It's taking place at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. www.greekfestivalofdallas.com.

State Fair of Texas: We'd be remiss if we didn't mention one of Dallas home owners' favorite fall events, the State Fair of Texas! This year, the fair's theme is paying homage to the new Big Tex, and will feature a variety of concerts, animal performances, exhibits, art displays, midway rides and games, and more. The fair opens on September 27 and runs until October 20. www.bigtex.com.
