According to recent news reports, the following stores will be located off Sam Ridley in Smyrna, TN:
- SuperTarget
- Old Navy
- Kohl's department store
- Staples
- Two different movie theaters
The recently-completed construction on Sam Ridley includes:
- Home Depot
- Publix grocery store
- Raz'z restaurant
- Jim n Nicks barbeque
And, we still haven't seen an official announcement of what the "big box" coming to Smyrna Commons (across from Nissan) may be.
The SuperTarget in Smyrna will be the first SuperTarget in the Middle Tennessee area. It will compete with Publix, Kroger, Food Lion and SuperWalMart for the grocery sales.
Why another grocery store? Grocery retailers love to move into spots with lots of new residential construction. New home sales and a brisk real estate market in Smyrna, Tenn., mean that there are a lot of new residents without established shopping patterns. That's good news for a new grocery store looking to get new customers fast.
