top 10 on Blogging from Ardell at KW

By
Real Estate Agent with Affinity Real Estate Group

Ok- this last week with NO notice Ardell Dellaloggia came to Keller Williams Realty Bellevue to talk about methods of blogging.  We're SOO thankful for the amazing insites into the blogging world.

My BIG take-away's: (My interpretations not necessarily Ardell's exact words)

  1. If you're blogging to talk to Realtors post on Friday night as Realtors read blogs on the weekend.  If you're blogging for clients/consumers post on Sunday night.
  2. Think about who you're blogging TO and write to that person.  Don't just post to "Post."  write about what that person you're thinking about want's to learn about.
  3.  Blog all the time-- I loved how Ardell talked about how she's watching TV while blogging, or looking up to stage right while thinking about what to blog.  Look for things in the here and right now-- and then write about it-- right now.
  4. Be prepared to respond to people that respond to you.
  5. Be a good writer.  Don't just post junk on-line.
  6. Remember that your blog NEVER goes away. Post only what you're ok with being posted on-line FOREVER.
  7. Start by commenting on other people's blogs.  Make sure that before you start bloggin you FIRST comment on other people's blogs. That will teach you the social morays and nuances of the site.
  8. Write about what interests you.  If it's not real estate people can tell that you're being in-authentic.
  9. Be prepared to be transparent.  People are checking you out on-line and have the ability to research your past blogs to get an impression on who you are.  No FAKERS!
  10. DON'T ever write to get higher on the SEO's. Write about what you know, love or are passionate about... the SEO's will follow.  That said-- write consistently and be prepared to write often about your topic. BE the best resource of information on your topic!

That said, I'm so grateful that Ardell was such a GREAT sport to come and talk to us.  I know I learned a TON.

Nice treat, especially since you didn't know she was coming.  I just can't fit into the mold though of what day to write what and to whom....my blog says Real Estate and Life, so for me that means for everybody.... so everyday should work just fine :):)

Thank you all so much for your response!

When talking to the agents in my office the thing they found SUPER helpful with her talk was introducing other Blogging websits to see and feel how they worked when contemplating putting a blog together of their own.

They are:

www.therealestatetomato.com

www.raincityguide.com

www.blodhoundrealty.com

www.topproducer.com

ok- and I think she mentioned www.homegain.com but I'm not sure.

Hope you all have a great time checking them out!

Lisa - this is a very good list.  I especially like #10.  SE's will find the content...if you stay consistent, they'll eventually come and find you.

good points... Only thing I challenge is the SEO point.  You CAN do both... either learn it or others will and you will not SERP as high...

Are you in the BUSINESS of blogging or SELLING Real Estate... think about that and why you are blogging...

I love what I do and enjoy the blogging but I do it to SERP better and generate leads for sure... http://www.DiggingUpDayton.com if you are interested...
