NYC Brings Back the Old Lever Voting Machines for today's primary

NYC Primary Election September 10, 2013

Lever Voting Machines NYC

and candidates with ideas from the past.

The city switched to electronic scanners in 2010 but is bringing back the old levers today because of logistics because there most likely will be a run-off election for Mayor.

Nostalgia: Bringing back old machines makes sense since the leading candidate wants to bring back NYC to the 1970's. He is running an anti Bloomberg campaign. Of course Bloomberg is not running. He wants to go back to the good old days of The Dinkins administration.

The front runner Bill DeBlasio has no record of acheiving anything ever. He was the public advocate and did absolutely nothing the past 4 years. The only thing he has ever done during his career is picket real estate developments.

In my opinion the city has never been better than these past 12 years. I will be voting for Christine Quinn, the speaker of the house who actually has a record of acheivement. If she wins NYC will have it's first female and openly gay MAYOR (openly gay as opposed to hizhoner the great Ed Koch former closeted gay mayor,-)

If de Blasio wins NYC may have it's first communist mayor. I'm sure he'd make a fine dog catcher in Queens since he claims to be an animal activist that pledges to shut down the horse carriage industry and he also claims to be the candidate for the outer boroughs. "The tale of two Cities".

But running the greatest city in the world. He's way out of his league. He has never done anything. Cute ads won't run the city. No Way! In my opinion he will be worse for NYC and real estate than 9/11, Lehman brothers and hurricane Sandy combined.

Vote Anyone but de Blasio!

Mitchell, hopefully some of the Democratic operatives have had the foresight to "adjust" some of the voting machines back to normal as it may be embarrassing if President Obama wins the primary vote.   ^_~      (sorry couldn't resist!)

May the best candidate win!

Now you know. I consider myself a liberal not a progressive. A pragmatic problem solver not an ideologue. A social liberal and fiscal conservative like mayor Bloomberg. In my opinion one of the best Mayors the city has ever had. If only he was running again. I never voted for term limits.

BTW: I actually sell "affordable housing" I represent buyers and sellers of affordable housing. Politicians just talk about it.

I'm sitting here laughing out loud.

To say that this post is "out of character" is a monumental understatement.

In fact, as I clicked on your photo on my subscribed list, I was anticipating lovely photos of New York City showing the spirit of that great city.

Instead, I got fabulous study in electoral politics.  After reading everything, I'm reminded that this is only a primary.

Thanks for putting a smile on my face Mitchell.

Lenn, I've kept quiet during the campaign but woke up really angry this morning. I had to get it off my chest. I'm scared that I will no longer be able to write about the great NYC and strong real estate market if this light-weight gets elected.

I don't know why they don't just keep them. They seem to be easier to vote with and more accurate than scanners.

Uh oh,  I guess being a real estate broker I'm part of the problem of the terrible "Bloomberg era" "the tale of two cities" the "condos instead of hospitals" the "chosen few" bla bla Blasio... the "unapologetically progressive alternative to the Bloomberg era"

What can I say? Brooklyn is IN- Manhattan is OUT!

It may only be a primary as some say and a primary VERY few participate in, which is the reason we are in the mess we are in now. Yes I was surprised @ the blog, but if we do not wake up and participate in the primaries, we are doomed to end the society that we have and the freedom that maybe we do not want.

Hi Mitchell, It was very easy to tell from the post: you had something on your chest you wanted to get off.  Although I must admit when I saw the title of the post, I envisioned old pictures of NYC.  Laughed when I saw the booths. I remember them from when my mother use to take me with her when she voted.

Hey, Dog Catcher may be a union job, so it might pay more than the Mayor's salary!  Not a bad gig if one can get it.

Thanks for the comments. I remember the Dinkins administration. I remember a lot further back than the 90's. LOL at Dog Catcher. Bloomberg's salary is $1. Perhaps a billionaire mayor is needed so his hands aren't in the pockets of crooked special interests with money.

Agenda is to tell it like it is so the electorate can make informed decisions and elect a mayor of NYC (considered the second most important job in the nation) with leadership skills, ability, and accomplishments rather than empty rhetoric in cute TV commercials.
